Splat!
I almost got myself splattered on my ride to work today. Some guy thought he was awesome and decided to race me up Franklin St. to the Jefferson. He was riding a cross bike with big fatty tires, so I was pretty sure I could take him.
Plus I heart hill climbing.
Well SOP on Franklin around there is to run all of the red lights since they are one way streets and you can usually tell if cars are coming. Well except one street which is kind of blind. But I mean, what are the chances a car will be driving on a random side street during rush hour traffic?! Pretty good today I guess.
Luckily I was able to unclip and stop with out getting run over. Double luckily the guy I was racing did the exact same thing I did. Heh.
So moral of the story: only run the blind red lights at night when you can see headlights.
